The popularity of water-saving podcasts is increasing because the format fits today’s busy life. People are listening to podcasts during their workouts, runs, commutes, and on breaks. For agriculture, gardening, landscaping, and water management we have more information to listen to than ever before. No matter the subject you can find a podcast for it now.
Water savings podcasts provide information at our fingertips (in the form of a smartphone) allowing us to educate ourselves during what was previously downtime. Also, podcasts provide a format where people sharing similar interests and promoting continued learning of shared information can get together to discuss topics.
Jain Irrigation Inc recently entered the water saving podcast world. Below are two of my favorite podcasts from the past few months.
In this water saving podcast, we’re discussing some great ways to achieve massive water savings in your landscape with expert, Richard Restuccia, Vice President of Water Management Solutions at Jain Irrigation, Inc.
6 Steps to Saving 85% of Landscape Water (Play Now)
Richard lays out 6 steps for saving up to 85% in landscape water. And with the price of water continuing to rise, that can be some substantial savings, while still having a green and efficiently watered landscape. New smart controller technology is taking the guesswork out of delivering the right amount of water your plants need but also making real-time adjustments based on weather conditions. These controllers along with efficient watering techniques will help ensure that every drop counts.
Drip Irrigation System Basics (Play Now)
Proper watering is essential for a thriving garden, and an automatic system can help ensure it’s well watered. Drip irrigation systems are the most efficient method of delivering water to plants, and they are easier than ever to install.
On this podcast, the guest is Michael Derewenko, Marketing Manager at Jain Irrigation and all-around irrigation expert. Michael discusses the mechanics behind drip irrigation systems, how they work, and why they are ideal for delivering the right amount of water that plants need.
He also shares details about Jain’s drip irrigation kits, which takes the guesswork out of what components are needed by bundling everything a gardener needs to install them successfully. These kits make it easier than ever to install a system directly to an outdoor water source. A complete diagram of what is included in the kit can be downloaded here.

In addition to the Jain Irrigation podcasts, we love the podcasts on The Green Industry Leaders Network. You can find those podcasts here.
