About Richard
25 years at the top of the water industry
I spent my career inside the companies that shape how America manages water — Rain Bird, ValleyCrest, Jain Irrigation, Husqvarna Water, and Rivulis. I’ve managed $200M+ in revenue, built sales divisions from scratch, and reached 300,000+ views across training programs and content nationwide.
In 2025, I published Waterwise Gardening — a comprehensive guide to sustainable irrigation and water conservation. I’m a past board member of the Irrigation Association and the Water Conservation Garden, and a recipient of the Leadership in Landscape award.
I live in La Jolla, California with my wife, a UC Master Gardener, where we maintain a half-acre productive garden that puts everything I preach into daily practice.
