CDFA SWEEP 2021 Provides $40 Million In Drought Relief For California Farmers

Economics will motivate growers in California to adopt technology quickly in the coming year. Starting January 1, 2022, agricultural workers at large employers (26 or more employees) will receive overtime pay at a rate of one and one-half times the employee’s regular rate of pay after 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a workweek. This, plus the just announced $40 million of CDFA SWEEP 2021 dollars available to growers due to the drought, will speed up the use of technology.

How To Get Your Share of CDFA SWEEP 2021 (State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program)

CDFA SWEEP 2021 (State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program)  has just received $40 million for drought relief (AB 128, Chapter 21). Getting your share of the money at times can seem tedious and time-consuming. Our team at Jain will show you how to make this process manageable.

Significant grants are available for implementing irrigation systems that reduce greenhouse gases and save water on California agricultural operations. Qualifying components include soil moisture monitoring devices, drip systems, switching to low-pressure irrigation systems, pump retrofits, and variable frequency drive pumps to reduce on-farm water use and energy consumption.
