WaterSmart Innovations Conference Count Down

This year’s WaterSmart Conference is just a couple weeks away. Seminars that are particularly of interest to me include, Valuing Water and Landscape in the Urban West, presented by Lori Catalano University of Colorado Dept of Landscape Architecture and Paul W. Lander Am. Soc. of L. Arch: Chair, Water Conservation Professional NetworkThe Benefits of Water Budgeting and Why It is an Efficient Method of Reducing Outdoor Water Usage presented by Peter Estournes [California Landscape Contractors Association] and  Community Based Social Marketing in Action presented by Veronica Blette [EPA WaterSense], which I plan on sitting in on and will share what I learn following the big event.  I will also be tweeting live from the event from H2oTrends.

If you missed last year’s conference, I gave a talk on ways contractors and water agencies can better collaborate to conserve water. It’s a quick clip – 2.5 minutes – if you’re interested in checking it out, I included the clip below.

It relates to what Kelly Duke referred to in his recent blog post, Water Management Issues Across the Pond, which similarly draws a link between the value of water and water use as critical if we want to achieve our goals for ensuring fresh and clean water can be enjoyed by generations to come. I hope to see you in Vegas!

    Hey Richard!
I was wondering if you ever looked into the United Nations’ plan on global sustainability as described in Agenda 21? There is a conference coming up in November in San Diego called: Behind the Green Curtain. I hope you will attend. http://www.eventbrite.com/event/577731009/efblike

    Richard,

For those of us who cannot attend, will there be anything published after the event that the rest of us can obtain? The topics sound very intriguing!

    Thanks!

    Brad,
In the past WaterSmart has always made the PowerPoints for the presentations available on the web. I will check with the Southern Nevada Water Authority and see if there is more available and let everyone know through the blog and on Twitter at H2oTrends. Great suggestion, thanks.

@ Mary – Behind the Green Curtain looks interesting. I hope you will provide a summary after the conference or perhaps submit a guest blog to Richard.

That’s awesome Richard! But if you can’t attend, I would be happy to write a report on the presentation.
